What We Do

Mission

– Our major emphasis is to support Army Aviation through educational, technical, and scientific activities to advance the theory and practices of Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft and attendant subsystems.  The focus of the chapter is to advance these concepts in primary, secondary, and college educational institutions thru Grants and Scholarships.

Scholarships

– Last year the local chapter awarded $10,000 to 5 college students through a rigorous merit-based selection process.  We focused on those students who were majoring in math, science, and engineering disciplines.  This year, we will continue our Scholarship Program which will start with an announcement on our web site and through letters to Universities in our Chapter area.  The Scholarship Program will culminate with an awards luncheon in the July time frame.  We encourage those of you with College students majoring in math, science and engineering disciplines to apply.

Leonardo DaVinci Award

– The Redstone Chapter solicits your recommendation for the DaVinci Award to recognize those individuals who contribute to our mission and the goals of our Chapter.  The Medallion signifies the individual reflects the highest ideals, goals, and achievements of vertical flight.  Please visit our website for the process to nominate a deserving professional from the Military, Government, Industry and Academia.
