Redstone Arsenal Chapter
The Redstone Chapter of the VFS represents portions of Alabama, Mississippi , Tennessee, and Arkansas. We have approximately 300 members and are one of the most active chapters within VFS. Our members are employed by the military, government agencies, and the rotorcraft and support industries.
Since its inception in 1944, the Vertical Flight Society, formally known as the American Helicopter Society or AHS, has been a major force in the advancement of a global rotorcraft industry, marked by rapid technical developments and expanding military capabilities and commercial applications. The strength of VFS as a professional and technical society is its diverse international professional and corporate membership. The aim of the society is not only to emphasize and further engineering excellence in traditional rotorcraft platform disciplines, but to expand this focus to the multidisciplinary fields of vertical flight and the related support industries. By supporting the needs of today's vertical flight industry and advocating the requirements for tomorrow's industry, the VFS will benefit both military and commercial sectors of the rotorcraft industry.
If you are interested in becoming a member or corporate sponsor, please contact one of our chapter officers. Membership can also be processed through the VFS website.
The Vertical Flight Society is the only technical society for professionals working within the vertical flight technology community. VFS members cover a spectrum of international rotorcraft industry engineer/scientists and leaders including representatives from government, military, civil operators, and academia.
